about

Put some thought into this story. I wanted people to really feel the story with vivid description and know that art and poetry can heal the human soul. Keep writing keep driven. 666 or 777 make timeless art....

lyrics

In a word of sin, find the light
In a world of sin, be the light

Lil teen boy too spoiled
So arrogant
No friends by his side is loyal
He’s hard headed
He’s dreaded
In social events he’s invisible
Seen as not likable often ridiculed
Pretty girls call him pitiful
But they don’t know what he’s been through
In foster homes he ate his food.
No mom or dad too
Now he wants to be a bully too to control you
Impress these fools
Girls and the dudes
That made his ego black & blue
Violence begets more violence.
That’s the chant.
He wanted to kill his classmates,
But couldn’t kill a ant.
He wanted pay back, a great life
A real life
He put down the hand gun and knife
& began to write
He put down his foster dad’s hand gun
& began to write to the light under the sun.
He put down his foster dad’s hand gun
& began to write under the light of the sun.

Chorus:
He sat down to just write
Sat down to write
The poetry inside helps with hard times

He sat down to write sat down to write
The poetry inside helps with hard times

He sat down to write sat down to write
The poetry inside will help with the hard times.
Sat down to write he sat down to write
The poetry inside will help with hard times.
Poetry, the poetry, the poetry, the poetry, the writer.

Verse II

Her cellphone alarm goes off.
It’s time to work hard
Ride. Another day for her job.
Former alcoholic now 7 years clean.
Social worker right here trying to raise two seeds.
1 girl 1 boy
Two different fathers neither one of them employed.
Her life feels destroyed.
Yet powerful, faithful it’s heartfelt .
Social activist raising these two kids by herself
Wipes the cold from her eyes
Get ready on time.
Her kids for work, she got to be there by 9.
Drives a “Saturn”
Problems with her car, still praising God
To help her strong in the spiritual war.
Fights for survival
Times will test you
Reads her bible for clues
To gain the spiritual truth.
Feeling blessed cashing in on her “Wick” checks.
Food stamp vex government assistance is next.
Yet, gorgeous in her appearance
Gorgeous in her spirits
You’ve got to hear it.
She will make it the strong Woman not forsaken.
She sat down to write
In pain & spite.

Chorus:

She sat down to write sat down to write
The poetry inside helps with hard times
She sat down to write sat down to write
The poetry inside helps with hard times.
